Our Handmade Process

Australian made wooden stands by The Creative Sprout

When we began The Creative Sprout, our goal was to create ethically sourced, cost effective, Australian made, high quality, eco-friendly resources which we would be proud to put our name on. When it came to sourcing our Wooden Stands, we spent numerous hours scouring for suppliers and unable to find any Wooden Card Holders that met our requirements.

Luckily for us, a solution soon presented itself, this being John, who is a carpenter and also Saara's Dad. He was able to help us source eco-friendly timber and design two custom sizes of Wooden Stands, which suited our cards perfectly. Keeping production within the family meant our Wooden Stands are proudly Australian made with the finest quality and attention to detail.

Saara was fortunate enough to spend the day with her Dad, John, while he produced a batch of wooden stands. This craftsmanship isn’t a quick process, so it soon became apparent how much time and care is taken to make each unique piece.

When John starts the process, the Fijian Mahogany is a large plank of timber, which is measured and cut down into strips on the table saw. He then measures and readjusts the saw to cut the small groove. Once complete, he takes them over to the drop saw, where each size is measured and cut. Finally, each stand is individually sanded on a belt sander.

These humble Wooden Stands are one of the small personal touches we have included on our website to ensure we stay sustainable and provide a high-quality product at a reasonable price.

Our handmade Wooden Stands are exclusive to our website and complement our bespoke card sets. Thanks to John, we have been able to accomplish that.
